Hi All
This year offers
a fresh challenge for the Turner Motorsport pairing of Dylan Turner
and Sara Warrington.
They will be
competing in the Group N class of the 2004 Parker ENZED New Zealand
Rally Championships starting with the Rally of Otago on the 22nd
/ 23rd May 2004.
After a successful
2003 Propecia Rally New Zealand last year, where the team came home
3rd Group N New Zealander, Dylan and Sara decided it was time to
step up and compete on a National level.
With the start
of the 2004 Parker ENZED New Zealand Rally Championships rolling
around, the Turner Motorsport team has been busy preparing the car
for the upcoming Rally of Otago. The team began in November last
year and have spent the off-season giving the car a full refresh.
"Our first
goal for 2004 was a shakedown run at the Taranaki Tarmac Rally.
The event allowed us to test new tyres, suspension settings and
larger brakes, which we will look to use on the last round in Whangarei.
Our plan was to have steady run and to settle back into using the
safety notes, all of which we achieved."
"We then
ran the car in gravel settings last weekend which allowed us to
fine tune the suspension settings and try a few new ideas."
explained Dylan Turner.
Over the weekend
the crew will be packing and checking the Service truck, and on
Monday the long trek to Dunedin begins. All going well the team
is due to arrive in Otago on Thursday, with Dylan and Sara completing
recce on Thursday and Friday, and the rally proper starting Saturday
morning.
