The Performance
Finance & Leasing /Turner Motorsport team of Dylan Turner and
Sara Warrington head to the Hawkes Bay this weekend to compete in
the Bayswater Vehicles Rally of Hawkes Bay.
This will be
their first visit to the stages in Hawkes Bay, and they are looking
to improve and move up the leader board after the disappointment
of Rotorua.
"We want
to move back to second in the Rookie standings. We currently lie
in 8th in Group N and 4th in the Rookie Standings, so for the next
three rounds we need good points scoring finishes to move back to
where we were before Rotorua."
"Hawkes
Bay is another step in our rookie year and from the sounds of the
descriptions, the roads should suit us, as they county gravel roads,
fast and smooth, hopefully like Northland where we have done well
before," said Turner.
The team has
spent the last two weeks since Rotorua giving the car a complete
once over after the punishment it got at Rotorua. Whilst the car
has had work done in it, the team at Gary Capper Performance have
been giving the gearbox a mid season rebuild after the bearings
were damaged by a metal fragments on day two at Rotorua.
"We have
updated the suspension with improved struts and testing this week
should highlight the positive effects this will have on the handling
of the Performance Finance & Leasing /Turner Motorsport Evo
5," explains Turner.
The Bayswater
Vehicles Rally of Hawkes Bay begins this Friday July 30th at 4pm
with the Bayswater Car Show at West Quay and the ceremonial start
at 6pm. It's then a 6am start on Saturday for 7 stages through the
Mohaka Forest and county roads around Wairoa with the first car
on the finish ramp at Bayswater Vehicles from 5pm, having completed
