Hi All
The Performance
Finance & Leasing /Turner Motorsport team of Dylan Turner and
Sandy Bansal had a great weekend at the third round of the 2005
Parker ENZED New Zealand Rally Championship, Racetech Rally Wairarapa.
The team finished
Leg One 8th overall and Leg two 8th overall to move up to 9th in
the championship standings.
Run in gloomy
wet conditions on Saturday and slightly warmer and drier weather
on Sunday, both Turner and Bansal had a great event long tussle
with Marty Roestenburg and Dean Sumner.
"We have
had a great event, with minimal problems. Our stages times were
good, with all our stage times in the top 10 and a highlight was
4th equal in stage 8. "
"On stage
9 we had a moment on the bridge about half way through. I braked
a little late and we took off into the bank on the outside of the
corner and bounced off it. We were really lucky not to suffer any
major damage, other than pride and a few bits of spoiler going missing",
explains Turner.
"The car
was going great; the tuning that Gary Capper did before the event
combined with the Dunlop tyres enabled us to push really hard all
weekend."
The team now
has a short timeframe to prepare the Performance Finance & Leasing
/Turner Motorsport Evo 6 for the Hella Rally of Rotorua in two weeks
time. Needing only a few spoilers and a good spanner check at Gary
Capper Performance, they will look to build on the results at Wairarapa
and gain more points at the 3 day event.
The team would
like to thank our sponsors for the 2005 Parker ENZED New Zealand
Rally Championship - Performance Finance and Leasing, LJ Hooker
Manurewa, AB Panel and Paint, Team Evolution, Dunlop, Chiropractic
and Sport and Dale Perry from Rally Drive NZ for all his assistance.
Til next time.
