The Performance
Finance & Leasing /Turner Motorsport team of Dylan and Sara
Turner finished 2nd overall at the 2005 Copthorne Hotel Rally of
the North on the 15th October 2005.
Starting 2nd
on the road, the team flew through the 8 stages to be 2nd overall
at the finish in Waitangi, just over a minute behind rally winner
Andrew Hawkeswood.
Stage 1 saw
the team try and turn left at the junction halfway through the stage
(where the road went right) only to stall the car and loose time
restarting it. Then on stage 6 they had a slight argument with a
bank and the car lost the rear bumper, which was later found in
a farmer's paddock by the sweeper car. Stage 8 saw another spin
towards the end of the stage.
"We had
a great event, we won a couple of stages and to be a minute behind
Andrew at the finish was a great result for us."
"This result
finishes a great season for us in the Performance Finance &
Leasing /Turner Motorsport Evo 6. The car has been really reliable
all year, with no DNF's since its pre-season rebuild."
