What a stunning day. Cool crisp and clear, not a cluod in the sky.

After navigating the start ramp (which was very narrow) we headed off to the start of SS1.

SS1 McIvor - 10.12km
I found this stage to be very slippery and the car was very nervous on the road, it was all over the place and I was worried I had set the car up incorrectly, but we still managed to set the 12th quickest time. We managed to beat Steve Burley by 8sec, Rex Vizable by 1sec. Alex Gilmour got us by 1sec and Darryl Jone also by 3secs, so we hadn't done to bad. We noticed touring to SS2 we had a severe vibration from 90km/hr and above so we were a little worried.

SS2 Herepuru 1 - 10.12 km
We started this stage slow because the vibration was so bad, but about 5km in it vanished (we lost a bit of time, probably 10-15sec) and we managed to do the 15th quickest time, but I think we could have done a top 10 time...but that's rallying.

SS3 Pikowai 1 - 28.31 km
Not our best, we took a 3Left too fast and slid wide into a bank (denting both drivers-side doors). We then got a flat tyre with 8km to go, so we had to stop and change it, which took 7mins. Once we got going again, we caught a car , and finished the stage 57th...(oh dear!!)

SS4 Hannons 1 - 11.17 km
Still a little shaken from the minor off we had on the previous stage, we set the 14th quickest time.

SS5 Manawahae -19.05 km
Helicopter Corner, the old international stage. What an incredible stage, the best I have ever done, and we set the 10th quickest time, that's more like it.

SS6 Pikowai 2 - 18.25 km
We had a bit of a moment and lost our momentum, and we set the 19th quickest time. We ll done to Rex Vizable who took 26sec out of us. Darryl Jones and Dave Burgess had a blinder as well, 5th equal, well done guys!!

SS 7 Hannons 2 - 11.17 km
14th o/a for this stage and one second behind Rex Vizable. Leeanne Barnes set the same time as me, man is she going. She has come a long way and could be another Deborah Kibble in the making. We had a huge moment on the finish line (Sara growled me off and said so much for driving to finish!!!)

SS 8 Herepuru No.2 - 10.12 km
10th o/a stage time, gotta love that last corner

Overall we finished 41st. I was happy with some of our times, but NOT happy with our result o/a. We coulda shoulda woulda been fighting for around 10th o/a if it hadn't been for the off in stage 3 and the subsequent puncture, but hey that is rallying.

A big thanks must go out to all our sponsors and supporters, cause without your help, we wouldn't be rallying.

Til next time.
